Please join us for the annual Community of Oklahoma Instruction Librarians “unCOILed” workshop in Stillwater, Oklahoma on Friday, August 3 from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm (registration begins at 9:15). This year’s workshop is inspired by the work of Mike Caulfield and will focus on resources and methods to improve our information environment through library instruction. This workshop will feature discussions and group work, and will culminate in the planning of an activity appropriate for the classroom. Lesson plans for the activities will be made available at this Google Drive folder after the workshop. For more information on Mike Caulfield’s work, please read Info-Environmentalism: An Introduction and Web Literacy for Student Fact-Checkers.
Do you have an example of a web/media literacy lesson that you’ve implemented at your institution and would like to share at the workshop? When you register, you can submit a proposal for a 5-minute session during our lightning round.
Registration is only $15. Snacks/beverages will be provided throughout the workshop and prizes will be offered at the end of the day. Students can register for FREE.
